The PROGRESS project is funded under the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union (call 2024) and has a duration of 16 months, running to July 31st 2026.
Promoting gender equality in sport is essential to building a more inclusive society. While progress has been made, significant inequalities still exist. Women and marginalized groups continue to be underrepresented, both in participation and leadership roles. Gender stereotypes persist, limiting access and opportunities across all levels in sport.
The sector is still shaped by long-standing discriminatory norms, and these are increasingly challenged by the rise of anti-equality movements across Europe. In this context, sport has a crucial role to play; not only in challenging these norms, but in actively promoting equality, diversity and inclusion. There is an urgent need for collective action to ensure that sport becomes a truly inclusive space for everyone.

Developing high-quality training materials designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of sports trainers. This involves a training module, a toolkit, and a guide to support the implementation of gender equality practices in sports.
Disseminating the training module to a sample of sports trainers and educators. Feedback will be collected and analyzed to identify improvements to produce a final version.
Ensuring the visibility and impact of PROGRESS while promoting gender equality in sport by effectively training current and future professionals.
